Album Review: Kidz in the Hall's "The In Crowd"

Well what can I say.

Kidz in the Hall has improved from their last album, School Was My Hustle, when they were on Rawkus Records. Now being on the independent record label of Duck Down Records, the marketing and promotions for the album has had a better results, along with their single, Drivin' Down the Block, showing a different side to Naledge and Double-O from their last album.

Along with the popular single, the album has some nice samples and collaborations including Black Milk, Estelle, Travis McCoy, Bun B., Pusha T, The Cool Kids, Phonte, SkyZoo, and Guilty Simpson. Unlike the lyrics and beats from their last album, both elements flowed together to make cool collective songs.

My favorite tracks on the album:

  • Blackout
  • Love Hangover (feat. Estelle)
  • Let Your Hair Down (feat. Skyzoo & Lil Eddie)
  • Middle of the Map Pt. 2 (feat. Black Milk & Guilty Simpson)
  • Inner Me
  • Drivin' Down the Block (Remix) (feat. Pusha T, Bun B., and The Cool Kids)
